Job Summary

WAC Lighting is seeking a Project Solutions Engineer to join our Submittals Department at our Port Washington, NY headquarters. The ideal candidate will act as the liaison between the Project Estimators, Quotation Team, internal/external sales force and clientele. This position involves preparing job information at the start of each project, managing communication and expectations throughout and conducting final reviews of all material before submission.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee inbound job requests, sort through information/attachments and assign tasks to Project Estimators.
• Review construction documents to ensure all product offerings will function as intended.
• Develop and enforce timetables for Project Estimators to meet job deadlines while managing client expectations.
• Balance workflow by breaking out inbound requests for equitable distribution.
• Facilitate collaboration between internal teams and external partners (contractors, lighting designers, distributors, reps) when additional discussion or elaboration is needed on a project.
• Review and correct shop drawings to ensure accuracy, addressing any inventory constraints.
• Confirm inventory availability and verify substitutions or corrections where necessary.
• Ensure that materials are appropriate for specific environmental conditions before submission to clients.
• Generate reports for company leadership on project trends and performance.
• Learn our various product lines to understand and utilize the resources and technology available.
• Guide clients through product options while balancing cost, design, and project requirements.
• Gain and retain expertise in product applications (including dimming, switching, and photometrics) to provide informed lighting solutions to customers. Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience in project coordination/management.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management from start to finish.
  • Strong multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Lighting design experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Agi32 experience preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks with accuracy.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
