Job Description


S6G Power Plant Mechanical Engineering provides tip-of-the-spear design support for the fluid and mechanical systems for the LOS ANGELES Class fleet. You will work closely with the Reactor Plant Contractors Office (RPCO), solve problems and respond to Naval Messages directly back to Ship's Force, and develop improvements to the reactor plant operating and casualty procedures. PPM is the integrator, coordinating enterprise-wide resources to meet the needs of the Navy. As such, you will help extend the lifetimes of the S6G ships, and improve Operational Availability (Ao), while developing an integrated plant perspective that will help you throughout your NNL career.



Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill


Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.

Pay Range


$62,000.00 - $94,900.00 annually
Salary information provided is a general guide line only. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations


The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
