Financial Reporting, Planning, Internal Audit, Risk or Treasury)
Intern at FirstEnergy, you will have an impact on the team's
success. For the Spring 2025 session (January 27th, 2025 to May
9th, 2025), we will have virtual positions. Based on your academic
discipline, as well as the department and projects you are assigned
to, selected candidates may:Compose and input journal entries and
analyze various general ledger accountsPerform balance sheet
reconciliationsAssist with month-end financial reportingAssist with
accounting research projectsAssist with budgeting, financial
forecasting, and financial analysisContribute to improving current
work processes and supporting documentationAssist with various
ad-hoc reporting and analysis requestsCollaborate with other
departments within the Finance & Strategy Department to complete
projectsYou will also have the opportunity to participate in the
Co-op/Intern Professional Development Program, which is designed to
cultivate professional skills and provide professional level work
at FirstEnergy. Each participant will receive a personalized
development plan, on-the-job training, and challenging assignments
to refine skills and round out competencies.QualificationsCurrently
enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program at an accredited
university/college with a major in Accounting, Business, Finance,
or related discipline.Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or
betterMust have the ability to work without sponsorship (now or in
the future)Ability to pay attention to detailsDemonstrate ability
to define and solve problemsStrong interpersonal skills, with the
ability to make formal presentations to various
audiencesWillingness to undertake assignments involving unfamiliar
subjects, with the aptitude to learn quicklySound understanding of
Microsoft Office line of products, especially Word, Excel and
PowerPointOrganizational skills to prioritize and plan work,
multi-task and meet schedulesAble to work in a team
environmentHighly motivated to work independently and productively,
with an aptitude to learn quicklyAnalytical skills to resolve
problems and think creativelyThe ability to work remotely within
the United States may be available based on business need. This
option is not available in the states of California, Colorado,
Illinois, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Montana, Nebraska, New York,
